Illinois State junior guard TeTe Maggett swept the Missouri Valley Conference women's basketball weekly honors Wednesday.
Maggett was named the league’s Player of the Week and Newcomer of the Week after helping ISU to its sixth straight victory.
Maggett had 24 points, seven rebounds and two assists Sunday in a 62-55 road win over Missouri-Kansas City. Maggett's career-high point total was aided by 10 of 10 free-throw shooting and 2 of 2 accuracy from 3-point range. She raised her season average to 15.1 points per game.
ISU returns to action Friday in the Missouri Valley opener against Northern Iowa at Redbird Arena. Tip off is at 7 p.m.
Women's basketball falls: Josie Morgan scored a game-high 20 points as the Eureka College women's basketball team suffered a 79-62 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference loss to Webster at Webster Groves, Mo.
Samantha Sarnes and Olivia Falls added 10 points each for Eureka (4-7, 1-4). Jaysea Morgan had 18 for Webster (9-3, 4-1).
