NORMAL — Illinois State basketball player Milik Yarbrough was arrested early Wednesday morning by Normal police on a warrant for failure to appear in McLean County court on a pending traffic citation.

Yarbrough, 22, posted a $420 bond and was released shortly after his arrest. Yarbrough was charged last year with driving on a suspended license. He is due back in court Feb. 20.

A spokesman in ISU's sports information department said "the university is aware of the situation and is handling it internally."

ISU faces Southern Illinois at 8 p.m. Thursday at Redbird Arena. Redbird coach Dan Muller didn't comment on Yarbrough's status for the game.

The 6-foot-6 junior forward from Zion leads the Redbirds with 16.6 points and 4.6 assists per game and is second in rebounding with a 6.2 mark. Yarbrough is in his first season playing with the Redbirds after transferring from Saint Louis in 2016.
