WHEATON — No. 16-ranked Wheaton outscored Illinois Wesleyan 47-20 in the second half Wednesday night to post a 72-46 victory over the Titans in a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin women's basketball game at King Arena.
IWU (8-11, 2-6) led 26-25 at the half before making just 24 percent of its second-half field goal attempts (6 of 25).
Wheaton (17-2, 7-1) shot 50 percent after halftime (14 of 28) and was 6 of 10 from 3-point range.
Freshman Molly McGraw had 11 points and five steals to lead the Titans, who were 2 of 13 from outside the arc. Shelby Gray added eight points, while Rebekah Ehresman was the rebounding leader with six.
Wheaton received 14 points from Katie McDaniels, 11 from Ellie Zeller and a double-double from Hannah Considine (10 points, 10 rebounds). Considine led the Thunder to a 41-29 rebounding advantage.
IWU led by as many as nine points in the first half. Wheaton finished with 16 assists to only seven for the Titans. Kasey Reaber paced IWU with four assists.
