Illinois Wesleyan senior center Maddie Merritt and junior forward Sydney Shanks were named to the first team, while sophomore forward Raven Hughes made the second team of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin all-league women's basketball squads released Tuesday.
Merritt, a second-team all-CCIW selection the past two seasons, and Shanks were unanimous first-team selections. The Titans finished 14-2 in the CCIW and are the No. 2 seed in this weekend’s conference tournament at Wheaton.

A Tri-Valley High School product, Merritt was third in the CCIW in scoring in conference game with a 16.1 average. She also was second in free throw percentage at .851 (74 of 87) and in offensive rebounds at 2.50 per game.
Shanks, a former Central Catholic star, was second in the league in assists to turnover ratio (1.70), third in steals per game (2.06) and fourth in assists per game (3.94).
Hughes, a University High School graduate, led the CCIW in field goal percentage at .657 (67 of 102) and tied for foufth in offensive rebounds per game (2.38).
Hannah Frazier of league champion Wheaton won the Lori Kerans Most Outstanding Player and Wheaton’s Kent Madsen earned the Beth Baker Coach of the Year honor. Jayla Johnson of North Park was the CCIW Newcomer of the Year.
