GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Kevin Tokarski singled and doubled for the Redbirds only hits as No. 6 Florida defeated Illinois State, 8-0, Wednesday night at McKethan Stadium in Gainesville, Fla.

Florida starting pitcher Anthony DeSclafani struck out six and limited the Redbirds to one hit in five-plus innings as ISU (4-7) suffered their fifth straight loss.

Freshman right-hander J.D. Learnard made his first career start for Illinois State and suffered the loss despite allowing just one earned run on four hits through four innings.

The Redbirds trailed 2-0 after five innings before Florida (9-2) scored four runs in the sixth inning and two in the eighth.
