Illinois State junior Kate Del Fava was named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District Division I women’s soccer team released by CoSIDA on Thursday.

The honor recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for performances on the field and in the classroom, with teams selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Del Fava earned Missouri Valley Conference first-team all-conference honors for the second time in her career. She had five goals and three assists, averaging 83 minutes per match.

A midfielder, Del Fava has a 4.0 cumulative grade point average while double majoring in Pre-Veterinarian Medicine and Animal Science. She was a 2017-18 MVC Commissioner’s Academic Excellence Award recipient.

First-team honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America ballot.

Brown, Burkman named all-region: Illinois Wesleyan outside hitters Tyler Brown and Rachel Burkman were named to the American Volleyball coaches Association (AVCA) All-Midwest Region team on Thursday.

Brown was also named the AVCA Midwest Player of the Year after leading the No. 11 nationally-ranked Titans into the NCAA Division III postseason by averaging 3.8 kills per set and 4.87 digs.

Burkman was second on the team with 3.5 kills and 2.14 digs per set.

IWU, enjoying a 20-match win streak, opens postseason play against Cal Lutheran on Friday at the University of Chicago.

Crabtree on All-District team: For the second straight year, Illinois Wesleyan junior defender Ellie Crabtree has been elected by CoSIDA to the Google Cloud Academic All-District 7 Division III women's soccer team.

She will be on the ballot for the Google Cloud Academic All-America Team, with first- and second-team honorees to be named in early December.

Crabtree has a 3.91 grade-point average as a biology (pre-med) major. She was named to the second team of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin all-league squads after being a first-team selection as a freshman and sophomore.

She has helped IWU (13-4-2) hold opponents to 0.84 goals per game heading into Saturday's NCAA Division III regional contest against Mount St. Joseph at St. Louis.
