Normal Epiphany Junior High School's put the clamps on Fieldcrest West in their IESA Class 7A state quarterfinal girls basketball game Saturday at Moweaqua.

Epiphany (24-0) held Fieldcrest (20-2) scoreless in the first quarter and to two points in the opening half while opening a 29-2 advantage.

"Our defense is what won it for us," Epiphany coach Greg Reinhart said. "That set the tone for the game."

Jess Reinhart had 29 points, eight rebounds and three blocked shots for Epiphany. Chelsea Turner had nine points and three blocks and Allie Norton had five points, seven steals and three blocks.

"(Jess Reinhart) was at the front of our press and was the recipient of a lot of layups," Coach Reinhart said.

Epiphany takes on Pana Sacred Heart (17-1), a 42-14 winner over Fisher (9-10), at 6:30 p.m. Monday.

LeRoy (15-7) fell to Springfield Blessed Sacrament 41-9.
