BLOOMINGTON - In anticipation of the kickoff of their inaugural season, the Bloomington Extreme football team signed seven players on Friday.
Illinois State grad Brian McCaslin is one of four quarterbacks invited to the camp of the first-year United Indoor Football League, while offensive lineman Kenneth Sandor spent three seasons with the UIFL's Ohio Valley Greyhounds.
Joining Sander on the offensive line are 6-foot-3, 300- pound Nicholas Ruud and tackle J.D. Sheldon, a former Augustana captain and a teammate of McCaslin's at Libertyville High School.
Rounding out the group are linebackers Jason Howard and James Dudgeon, a former member of the semi-pro Twin City Storm, and former Indiana University wide receiver Glenn Johnson.
The Extreme's first game is on the road against the Peoria Rough Riders on March 25. They open at home at U.S. Cellular Coliseum on April 1.
