2000: Shedrick Ford was the driving force as Illinois State's basketball team throttled Tennessee-Martin, 70-60, at Redbird Arena for the 1,300th victory in school history. The 6-foot-4 junior-college transfer posted his first major college double-double by scoring 15 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.
1990: Illinois State wore down previously undefeated Indiana for a 67-62 women's basketball victory, giving the Redbirds their second triumph over a Big 10 opponent this season. ISU's defense hassled the Hoosiers for 29 turnovers in the game.
1980: Sophomore Curt Hasler had 27 points and 17 rebounds to lead Roanoke-Benson High School to a 79-65 basketball victory over El Paso. Jay Kolb and Eric Aeschliman each added 20 points to the Rockets' attack.
1955: If Farmer City's Tony Cadle and Frank Fogal were placed end to end on a basketball floor, they would stretch out for more than 13 feet, and that would have been a convenient arrangement from LeRoy's point of view for the 6-foot-6 pair stood out like signal towers and flashed in 40 points to pilot the flying Farmers to a 77-55 victory.
