25 years ago (1981): Buddy Strawn and Illinois State tennis standout Darrell Smith defeated Keith Vens and John Dister of Cleveland, Ohio, 4-6, 6-3, 6-2, to win the Men’s Open doubles division of the $1,500 Pekin Open Tennis Tournament.
