2001: Intertwined by recent ankle ailments, Illinois Wesleyan's Luke Kasten and Todd Wente sprained and twisted Augustana for a combined 43 points in IWU's 91-72 CCIW victory before a season-high Shirk Center crowd of 2,300. Kasten had 24 points, and Wente scored a career-high 19.

1991: Illinois Wesleyan is considering a new 3,000-seat athletic facility adjacent to Fort Natatorium, The Pantagraph has learned. The facility will replace Fred Young Fieldhouse as the basketball home of the Titans and also will include an indoor track. Fred Young Fieldhouse was dedicated March 3, 1962.

1981: Olympia High School rallied to defeat Bloomington, 57-56, in overtime. Olympia's Jamie Furman sent the game into overtime with a rebound basket that rolled through as the horn sounded, tying the score at 51. The Spartans never trailed in overtime as Jeff Foster (28 points) and Scott LaDew scored key baskets.

1956: Bloomington's Raiders jumped to a quick 15-2 lead midway in the first period and then coasted to an easy 83-58 Intercity victory over University High. Henry Hammond, the Raiders' junior center, hit on 13 buckets and six charity tosses to pace the winners with 32 points.
