2000: Senior guard Tarise Bryson scored a career-high 41 points but probably more impressively held high scoring Central Michigan guard David Webber to nine points as the Redbirds captured a rare road victory, 85-73. Bryson's 17 made free throws tied a school record set by John Cruser in 1963.

1990: Class AA schools Bloomington and Normal Community defeated their Class A counterparts in the opening round of the 20th Intercity Basketball Tournament. Terry Riggs and Andre Hursey led BHS over Central Catholic, 73-55, and NCHS gunned down University High, 68-50.

1980: Trailing by three points after a sporadic first half, Illinois Wesleyan was close to spectacular in the second half of an 88-75 victory over DePauw. Front-liners Greg Yess, Kent Schneider and Brad Musselman combined for 56 points and 30 rebounds. Yess pumped in 30 points.

1955: Lewis College became the second victim of an Illinois State Normal University scoring onslaught as the point-conscious Redbirds swept to an easy 106-86 decision. Fred Marberry poured in 37 points to pace the Birds.
