Four players reached double figures to spark Heyworth to a 62-54 overtime victory over Champaign Edison in the third-place game of the Illinois Elementary School Association Class 8AA state basketball tournament at Farmington Thursday night.
Heyworth (26-1) received 18 points from Spencer Campbell, 17 from Andrew Schultz, 13 from Jase Wilson and 11 from Tyler Gooden.
Rayvonte Rice led Champaign Edison (22-4) with 27 points.
The score was tied at 50 at the end of regulation. Heyworth trailed at intermission, 30-22.
Pontiac St. Mary's fourth
Pontiac St. Mary's placed fourth in the IESA Class 8A state tournament at Monticello after dropping a 40-34 decision to Chrisman Scottland.
Kyle Ledford led St. Mary's (22-4) with 10 points. Zach Parsons led Chrisman (21-4) with 15 points.
St. Mary's led at halftime, 19-17, but lost the third quarter, 9-4. Chrisman outscored St. Mary's at the free-throw line, 11-4.
