Danville edges U High: Jacob Hendren and Ryan Morton had two hits apiece for the Pioneers in a 4-3 nonconference loss at Danville.
Brandon Timm (2-1) took the loss in relief for U High (16-12).
PBL overpowers Prairie Central: Dylan Overstreet had two hits, including a double and a solo home run, to lead PBL to a 6-4 nonconference win over Prairie Central at Fairbury. Brad Batte added a two-run homer for the Panthers.
Streator edges DeKalb: Mike Renner was 3 for 4 with a double and three RBIs and also picked up the save as Streator nipped host DeKalb, 8-7. Bulldogs starter and winner Josh Eplin chipped in three hits to help his cause.
Mettrick, LeRoy top CPCI: James Mettrick (2-2) picked up the win on the mound and had three hits and two RBIs to lead LeRoy to a 5-2 nonconference win over CPCI at Cissna Park. Brandon Bronke added two hits, including a double, and an RBI for the Panthers (15-13).
Starkey lifts WFC: Ryan Starkey’s two-run bloop single with two outs in the top of the seventh rallied Woodland-Flanagan-Cornell (15-9, 4-2) to a 6-5 win over host Ottawa Marquette. Alex Bullard (6-2) pitched the final two innings to pick up the win.
