Ryann Anderson had four goals and one assist for Normal Community High School's soccer team during a 5-0 victory over Joliet West in the Class 3A Joliet West Regional semifinals Tuesday.
Lia Ward added one goal and one assist for the Iron (19-4-2), who will face Minooka in Friday's 5 p.m. final at Joliet West. Katie Quinn added two assists and Kaitlynn Delveaux one as NCHS outshot its host, 17-3. Savannah Henson made three saves.
Normal West swamps East Moline: Normal West (13-8-2) got two goals and one assist from Arya Gandhi during a 5-0 victory over East Moline in a Class 3A Normal West Regional semifinal.
The Wildcats, who face Bradley-Bourbonnais at 5 p.m. Friday for the title, also received goals from Olivia Teplitz-Crawford, Audrey Marsaglia and Rylee Billington.
Billington had two assists and Taylor Donalson one. Bekah Nielsen had two saves as West outshot its guest, 19-2.
BHS eliminated: Peyton Dearing's three goals helped Morton win, 4-0, over Bloomington in the Class 2A University High Regional semifinals. The Potters (9-5-4) advanced to Friday's 4 p.m. final where they will face U High or Champaign Central.
Grace Marcy made nine saves in goal for BHS (12-10-1), which was outshot, 13-4.
CLASS 2A REGIONALS
Saints blank Hoopeston Area: Winning pitcher Bailey Coffman tossed a two-hitter and swatted a two-run homer during the five-run sixth inning of Central Catholic's 5-0 victory over Hoopeston Area (20-15) in the Class 2A GCMS Regional semifinals.
The Saints (24-11), who will face GCMS or Tri-Valley in Saturday's 11 a.m. final, saw Coffman fan 13 and walk none. She finished with two hits as did Charlie Sartoris.
Tremont eliminates Eureka: In the Class 2A Tremont Regional semifinals, the hosts downed Eureka, 6-2, to advance to Saturday's 11 a.m. final where the Turks will face Brimfield or Fieldcrest.
Winning pitcher Paige McAllister fanned 15, walked two and scattered three hits in seven innings and also had two hits and two RBIs. Eureka's Jayci Swords had two hits.
CLASS 1A REGIONALS
Fisher breezes: Taylor May had a home run among her two hits to drive in six runs for Fisher in an 11-1, six-inning victory over St. Anne in the Class 1A Dwight Regional semifinals.
Winning pitcher Sydney Eichelberger, who fanned eight, had four hits including two doubles. The Bunnies advanced to Saturday's 11 a.m. final to face either Dwight or Gardner.
U High wins league: University High (25-6, 17-1) topped visiting Springfield Lanphier in a pair of four-inning games, 18-1 and 21-2, to win the Central State Eight Conference crown.
The Pioneers needed just seven hits to win the first game. Winning pitcher Maddie Roop (12-4) tossed a two-hitter, fanning nine and walking three. She also had a double among her two hits to drive in two runs. The Pioneers got two hits and four RBIs from Makaylea Sepich while Addie Steward chipped in three hits and three RBIs.
In the nightcap, Lana Williams had two hits and five RBIs while Abby Knight added two triples to drive in two runs. Maddie Woodward chipped in three hits and four RBIs while Sami Cassel had three hits and three RBIs. Steward (2-0) fanned five in four innings.
NCHS downs BHS: Home runs by Ella Fletcher, Addy Boundy and Cadan Brinkman powered Normal Community (9-13, 6-2) to an 8-4 victory at Bloomington. Winning pitcher Alison Kern (5-8) fanned eight in seven innings and helped her cause by notching two of the Iron's six hits.
Losing pitcher Ellie Vetter, who fanned nine, had two of the Purple Raiders' six hits, as did Brooke Grady.
West squeaks past Mount Zion: Jess Jacobs' two-run bases-loaded single in the fifth inning sparked Normal West (23-4) to a 4-3 Senior Night victory over visiting Mount Zion. Jacobs had two of the Wildcats' five hits.
Jaxynn Dyson added a two-run homer in the third for the Wildcats while winning pitcher Bailey Turner (13-1) fanned three, walked two and allowed five hits.
Streator tips IVC: Jadyn Hansen, Ellie Magana, Grace Schmitz and Maddie Barichello each had two hits as Streator won, 5-4, over IVC at Chillicothe.
Normal West wins in 8: Evan Hutson had a double and the lone RBI for Normal West (23-6) during a 2-0, eight-inning victory at Rantoul. C.J. Lewis, the last of three Wildcat pitchers, got the win after fanning four in two no-hit innings of relief.
U High splits: Winning pitcher Nate Hardman fanned eight and walked one as University High (22-7) won the second game of a twin bill, 5-2, at Springfield Lanphier. Hardman also had two hits and two RBIs while teammate Bailey Klemmensen had a double and a triple.
Despite a solo homer from Jack Feely, U High dropped the first game, 3-2. Feely took the loss after allowing five hits in six innings. Paul Africano also drove in a run for the Pioneers.
Limestone tips BHS: Liam McGill had three hits for Bloomington in a 7-6 nonconference loss to Limestone at Bartonville. Cam Wilson (1-6) took the loss for the Raiders (11-18).
