Freshman Cadan Brinkman's second homer of the night, a three-run walk-off shot, made Normal Community High School's softball team (5-6, 2-1) a 6-5 winner over visiting Peoria Notre Dame on Tuesday.

Brinkman's three-hit, four-RBI outing included a solo homer in the sixth inning. Ella Fletcher added a two-run homer in the third for the Lady Iron.

Kuhn pitches perfect game: Jen Kuhn fanned seven while pitching a three-inning perfect game for University High in a 15-0 victory over visiting Decatur MacArthur. She helped her cause with two hits including a triple to drive in two runs. Abby Knight had two hits and three RBIs.

McAllister, Tremont romp: Paige McAllister stroked three home runs and drove in four runs for Tremont in a 17-1, four-inning victory over host Delavan/Hartsburg-Emden.

Henderson powers Dee-Mack: Joanna Henderson had two doubles, a triple and three RBIs in Deer Creek-Mackinaw's 9-0 win at Eureka.

Heyworth breezes: Claire Post had a home run and two doubles to drive in three runs for Heyworth in a 15-5, five-inning victory over visiting Athens. Winning pitcher Raeghan Morefield had a home run, a double and three RBIs.

LeRoy triumphs: Kiera Spratt (5-2) pitched a one-hitter as LeRoy (9-7) topped visiting Mount Pulaski, 15-0, in four innings. Hailie Hahn had two doubles for the Panthers while Olivia Wood had three hits and three RBIs.

Friese paces WFC: Emily Friese had three hits and three RBIs and struck out 10 in Woodland-Flanagan-Cornell's 12-1, five-inning win at Henry.

Edwards, Dwight win: Winning pitcher Katy Edwards helped her cause with four RBIs as Dwight won, 10-4, at Watseka (6-6).

TRACK

U High sweeps at Olympia: The University High boys scored 69.7 points and the Pioneers girls 75.3 to sweep the team titles in the Olympia Co-Ed Relays at Stanford. The Tremont boys were second (48) as were the Olympia girls (49).

Prairie Central's Ifft siblings swept the pole vault titles with Chandlar Ifft clearing a meet record 15-6 and Lillianna Ifft tying her sister Kassadee's 2013 meet record of 12-0. Mount Pulaski freshman Cassidy Clark swept the girls shot put (35-2) and discus (122-1).

Records fall at Pontiac: In the 41st Livingston County Open at Pontiac, Tate Walcott of the Ridgeview-Lexington co-op won the 200 in a meet record 22.20 after earlier taking the 100 in 11.28. Teammate Mason Barr clocked a meet record 39.00 in the 300 hurdles after earlier winning the 110 hurdles in 14.81.

For the girls, El Paso-Gridley's Sophia Lowery won the 400 (1:01.10) and tied for first in the high jump (4-8). Pontiac's Tristina Einhaus swept the 100 (13.57) and 200 (27.79).

BASEBALL

Wellman sparks BHS: Sophomore Ben Wellman allowed one run in five innings of relief as Bloomington recovered from a 5-0 deficit to beat visiting Champaign Central, 13-6.

BHS (5-10, 2-1) was led by Jesse Goropesek with three hits and three RBIs, while Liam McGill contributed two hits and two RBIs. Nick Sharp hit a solo homer in the second as BHS tied the game at 5-all. Wellman (1-0) gave up his lone run in the fifth and struck out four.

Hardman, U High romp: Nate Hardman had a home run among his three hits to drive in six runs for University High in a 16-1, five-inning victory over visiting Decatur MacArthur. Bailey Klemmensen added two RBIs for the Pioneers, who watched Matt Taylor work four innings on the mound, striking out seven and scattering three hits.

NCHS tops Richwoods: Nick Gilhaus hit a two-run home run in the third inning for Normal Community (11-2, 4-1) in a 4-2 win over Peoria Richwoods at Normal.

Mason Burns (2-0), the first of four NCHS pitchers, struck out six and allowed one earned run in 3⅓ innings. Griffin McCluskey struck out three in the seventh for his first save.

Eureka tops Dee-Mack: Eureka (14-3) watched winning pitcher Brady Krile (5-0) fan 10 and walk one in seven innings of a three-hit pitching effort. Teammate Austin Davis had two hits and two RBIs while Adam Anderson also drove in two runs.

LeRoy wins big: Ty Egan and Colin Meyer each had two hits and two RBIs for LeRoy (12-2) in a 12-1, six-inning victory over host Hartsburg-Emden. Winning pitcher Mason Buckles (3-0) had a two-run double.

Graham lifts Dwight: Logan Graham hit a home run and drove in four while striking out nine on the mound in 5⅔ innings to help visiting Dwight to an 11-1 victory over Watseka.

Wertz powers Clinton: Rustin Wertz had three of Clinton's 14 hits and drove in four runs to lift Clinton to a 9-5 victory over Meridian at Macon.

GIRLS SOCCER

Normal West drops BHS: Audrey Marsaglia and Rylee Billington each scored twice to spark Normal West (7-4-1, 5-0) to a 6-1 victory at Bloomington (6-7-1, 2-1-1).

Also scoring for the Wildcats were Arya Gandhi and Olivia Teplitz-Crawford. Gandhi added two assists, while Billington and Hanna Simmons each had one.

Denise Watts scored on a penalty kick for BHS, which saw Grace Marcy make 13 saves.

U High blanks MacArthur: Meredith Heller had three goals and one assist for University High (8-6-1, 4-2) in a 7-0 victory at Decatur MacArthur.

Julia Herrman added two goals and three assists while Bree Cordray had one goal and one assist. Olivia Checchi added a goal and Delaney Fitzgerald had an assist.

NCHS cruises at Peoria: Nine players scored for Normal Community in a 9-0 win at Peoria High. NCHS (10-1-1, 4-1) received goals from Samantha Churchey, Colby Oltman, Katy Quinn, Hanah Crowder, Maggie Peters, Rachel Barelka, Avery Mize, Elizabeth DeVecchi and Emma Conklin-Yokel.

Courtney Dage had two assists, with one each from Churchey, Oltman, Kaitlyn Dage, Angela Leone, Barelka, DeVecchi and Mize. The Iron outshot Peoria, 12-0.

Saints prevail: Lauren Shanks had three goals and Johanna Schwemer one for Central Catholic (8-6-1, 3-0) in a 4-0 victory over visiting Monticello (5-11). Assists came from Keira Hadley and Mia Sivore. Hadley had two saves in goal.

The Saints, who outshot their guest 23-4, visit Normal Community at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday as the Intercity Tournament continues.

BHS (5-10, 2-1) was led offensively by Jesse Goropesek with three hits and three RBIs, while Liam McGill contributed two hits and two RBIs. Nick Sharp hit a solo homer in the second as BHS tied the game at 5-all. Wellman (1-0) gave up his lone run in the fifth and struck out four.

<b>Hardman, U High romp:</b> Nate Hardman had a home run among his three hits to drive in six runs for University High in a 16-1, five-inning victory over visiting Decatur MacArthur.
