The Eureka High School boys track team scored 120 points to win the A division of the Metamora ABC Meet by 14 points over the host school on Friday.

University High was third (92) and Pontiac fourth (72).

Aden Sears led Eureka with wins in the 100 (11.05), 200 (23.69) and 400 (51.67). He also ran on the winning 400 relay (45.43). Teammate Connor Standish won the 800 (2:08.46) and ran on the winning 1,600 relay (3:39.17) with high jump winner Trevor Heffren (6-2).

Other area winners were U High's Dane Alexander in the 1,600 (4:36.28) and Aaron Wheeler in the 300 intermediate hurdles (42.55), Eureka's Grant Carlton in the pole vault (12-0) and Pontiac's Donovan Murphy in the triple jump (41-4).

BHS 7th at Downers Grove: Led by Liam McGill's victory in the pole vault (13-6), Bloomington scored 35 points to finish seventh in the 14-team Bob Cohoon Invitational at Downers Grove where Minooka won with 85. Placing second for BHS were Nick Doud in the 1,600 (4:32.52) and C.J. Hyde in the 110 high hurdles (14.92).

Tremont 3rd at Dunlap: Tremont's boys scored 36 points and the girls 27 as both finished third in the five-team Dunlap Relays. Dunlap swept the team titles.

Tremont's Titus Thompson won the high jump (5-8) and ran on the winning 3,200 relay (9:22.02). The Turks also won the distance medley relay (11:40.32). In the girls distance medley relay, the Turks won in 14:09.78 and teammate Janie Manningham captured the pole vault (8-6).


U High falls to East Peoria: Despite two hits and two RBIs by Maddie Roop, University High lost to East Peoria, 10-4, in the Margie Wright Classic at Metamora. Jen Kuhn took the loss after fanning nine and allowing 12 hits and 10 runs, seven of which were earned.

The Pioneers rebounded with an 11-1, five-inning victory over Metamora. Roop, the winning pitcher, allowed no earned runs while allowing three hits. She also homered as did Abby Knight, Kuhn and Lana Williams.

Heyworth dumps Lexington: Adyson Slayback and Erica McMann combined on a two-hitter as Heyworth won at Lexington, 10-0, in five innings. Slayback fanned six in three no-hit innings of work. 

Dee-Mack swamps Fisher: Shelby DeBolt had a homer and a double to drive in five runs for Deer Creek-Mackinaw during a 10-0, five-inning victory over visiting Fisher. 

LeRoy drops Tri-Valley: Winning pitcher Charly Warlow had four hits to drive in three runs for LeRoy (11-7) during a 14-5 victory over visiting Tri-Valley (9-5). 

Krause stars in Pontiac win: Regan Krause struck out 19 and limited Williamsville to two hits in Pontiac's 6-0 win in the Panther Classic at Washington. Addison Masching had three hits, including a pair of doubles for the Indians. Pontiac would complete its day with a 4-1 loss to Geneseo and a 3-0 loss to Barrington.

Fieldcrest edges GCMS: Winning pitcher Alivia Tjaden also had three hits, including a double and two RBIs in Fieldcrest's 7-6 win over GCMS at Minonk. Alaina Tjaden and Reagan Ruestman hit home runs for the Knights. Macie Bielfeldt and losing pitcher Madi Eberle homered for GCMS.

Eureka tips EPG: Morgan Greene had three hits and one RBI for Eureka (8-7, 2-4) in a 4-2 victory over visiting El Paso-Gridley.


Eureka blanks EPG: Eureka (15-4, 6-1) got two triples from Adam Anderson in a 6-0 victory over visiting El Paso-Gridley, which was held to three hits by Zac Messer (2-1). 

GCMS romps: GCMS notched 20 hits during a 25-8, five-inning victory over Fieldcrest at Minonk. The Falcons' Wade Burton had three hits including a home run to drive in seven runs while Hunter Brewer had a homer among his three hits to drive in two runs. Fieldcrest's Landon Cook had two doubles among his three hits to drive in five runs.

Olympia prevails: Alex Unsicker had two doubles for Olympia in a 3-1 victory at Bartonville Limestone. Winning pitcher Ethan Davis fanned 11 and walked three while tossing a two-hitter over 6⅔ innings.

Deany, Dee-Mack win: Ryan Deany fanned 11 during five innings of one-hit pitching for Deer Creek-Mackinaw in a 9-0 victory over visiting Fisher. Derek Denniston had three hits for the Chiefs.

WFC drops Roanoke: Woodland-Flanagan-Cornell (5-9, 3-4) got two RBIs apiece from Trevor Derossett, Christian Miller and winning pitcher Kyle Voytko (3-0) during a 10-4 victory over Roanoke-Benson at Peoria's Dozer Park.

Sammer, LeRoy top Tri-Valley: Nate Sammer was 4-for-4 with two RBIs to lead the Panthers (13-3, 5-1) to an 11-2 win over Tri-Valley at Downs. Colin Meyer added three hits, including a double, and also had two RBIs for LeRoy.
