Jake Jacek's two-run home run in a five-run sixth inning Saturday lifted Normal Community High School's baseball team to a 7-6 victory over Bloomington and a sweep of their doubleheader at Normal.

The Ironmen were 8-5 winners in the first game, which counted in the Big 12 Conference standings.

Nick Stoner also had a two-run homer for NCHS in the second game. The rally made a winner in relief of Nikhil Pallem, with Dylan Tracy earning his first save. Stoner, Jack Schirpke and Tommy Heideman each had two hits for the Ironmen (20-5, 10-3).

In the opener, Nick Gilhaus (6-1) got the win and had a double and two RBIs. Liam McGill had three hits for BHS (9-15, 6-4) and also had a pair of hits in the second game.

Naour leads Saints: Jonathan Naour (4-0) allowed four hits and struck out 10 in five innings as Central Catholic downed Monticello, 2-1, in an Illini Prairie Conference game at McGraw Park in Bloomington. Braden Glowacki drove in a run and Ben Winslow got the save for the Saints (10-14, 3-3).

Hodges fuels Delavan: Charlie Hodges had two hits and three RBIs and also struck out 13 in five innings in Delavan's 6-0 home victory over Cornerstone Christian.

Graham lifts Dwight: Logan Graham struck out 13 in six innings and had a home run among his two hits in Dwight's 2-1 home win over Watseka.

SOFTBALL

Normal West blanks NCHS: Jess Jacobs' sixth-inning grand slam helped Normal West (19-3, 6-0) win, 8-0, over host Normal Community (6-11, 3-2).

Kacie Quick had four of West's 10 hits. Winning pitcher Bailey Turner (11-1) helped her cause with three hits. She fanned six while scattering four hits. Addy Boundy had two hits for NCHS.

Kuhn perfect in U High win: Jen Kuhn hurled a four-inning perfect game and struck out nine as University High hammered Jacksonville, 15-0, at Normal.

Remy Cohler and Makaylea Sepich hit home runs for U High (19-5). Cohler drove in three, while Kuhn and Sepich each chipped in three hits.

Warlow, LeRoy romp: Charly Warlow had a home run and a double while driving in three runs for LeRoy (19-8) in a 16-1, four-inning victory over visiting Iroquois West. Winning pitcher Hailie Hahn tossed a two hitter and helped her cause with two hits and two RBIs.

In the nightcap, LeRoy won, 18-1, in four innings as Layna Spratt tossed a two-hitter while fanning four.

Olympia prevails: Winning pitcher Kaelyn Leverson tossed a three-hitter and drove in two runs with two hits to spark Olympia to a 14-1, five-inning victory over visiting Deer Creek-Mackinaw.

Stone leads EPG: Ahelyn Stone pitched a two-hitter, striking out eight, and also had a single, two triples and scored twice in EPG's 11-2 home win over Henry.

SOCCER

Marsaglia, West win: Audrey Marsaglia scored four goals to power Normal West (11-8-1) to a 5-1 victory over visiting Morton.

Arya Gandhi also scored for the Wildcats, who received two assists apiece from Jessica Powell and Annastacia Hollins. Bekah Nielsen had three saves for West, which outshot its guest, 9-4.

Normal West returns to action at 4:30 p.m. Monday at Normal Community for a Big 12 Conference match that will figure in the Intercity Tournament.
