Lia Ward had three goals for Normal Community High School's girls soccer team Tuesday in a 4-0 Big 12 Conference victory at Champaign Centennial.

Angela Leone also scored for the Iron (5-0-1, 1-0), who outshot their host, 24-0. Shannon Tomlinson had two assists while Kaitlynn Delveaux and Grace Blair had one apiece.

Normal West wins: Audrey Marsaglia had two goals and one assist for Normal West (3-3-1, 1-0) in a 5-0 victory at Peoria Richwoods (3-5, 0-1).

The Wildcats, who outshot the hosts 21-1, also got goals from Olivia Teplitz-Crawford, Madison Bergeron and Arya Gandhi. Gandhi had an assist as did Annastacia Hollins.

Saints post win: Kaylie Eckhoff scored twice as Central Catholic downed Williamsville, 4-2, at White Oak Park. Lauren Shanks and Keira Hadley also scored for the Saints (4-4), while Hadley, Johanna Schemer and Samantha Shanks had assists.

Central outshot Williamsville 24-9, with Saints goalkeeper Kylee Hadley making six saves.

BHS blanks Peoria: Denise Watts and Hailey Eddington had two goals apiece for Bloomington (2-6, 1-0) in a 7-0 Big 12 Conference victory at Peoria.

Also scoring for the Purple Raiders were Paige Gardner, Anahi Diaz and Darlease Watts. Gardner had two assists while Diaz, Darlease Watts and Noele Bess had one apiece.

BASEBALL

U High victorious: Parker Mathieson's home run and RBI doubles by Paul Africano and Nate Hardman sparked University High to a 5-1 victory at Springfield Sacred Heart-Griffin.

Hardman got the win, fanning five and allowing five hits in five innings.

Saints tumble: Joey Harris had two of Central Catholic's four hits during a 7-1 loss at Dunlap. Ethan Carr (0-2) took the loss for the 2-7 Saints.

LeRoy romps: Nate Sammer had two hits including a three-run homer in the fifth and finished with four RBIs in LeRoy's 10-0, six-inning win over Blue Ridge at Farmer City. Logan Petersen (2-1) struck out nine in a one-hitter for LeRoy (5-2).

Graham paces Dwight: Logan Graham pitched a no-hitter with 10 strikeouts and also had a double, a home run and three RBIs in Dwight's 10-0 win over Grant Park.

Tremont triumphs: Silas Israel had three hits including a double and a triple, for Tremont (6-0) in a 12-6 victory over visiting Midwest Central.

Schuler has big day: Ben Schuler was 4 for 4 with three doubles and an RBI in Pontiac's 18-8 loss at Coal City.

SOFTBALL

U High rolls: Emily O'Leary and Abby Knight had three hits each in support of Maddie Roop in University High's 11-0, six-inning win over Sacred Heart-Griffin at Springfield.

Jen Kuhn and Makaylea Sepich had two hits apiece for the Pioneers (10-1).

Roop allowed seven hits, walked two and struck out 10.

Dwight downs Grant Park: Kayla Kodat had a grand slam among her two hits to drive in five runs in Dwight's 14-4, six-inning victory over visiting Grant Park.

Heyworth wins: Madison Riley had four of Heyworth's 16 hits in an 8-6 win at Havana.

LeRoy breezes: Hailie Hahn had two of LeRoy's six hits in an 11-1, five-inning win at Armstrong that gave Coach Doug Hageman his 100th victory.

Kane leads WFC: Elise Kane's three hits included a triple, a home run and three RBIs in Woodland-Flanagan-Cornell's 16-6 win over Lowpoint-Washburn.

Fisher prevails: Winning pitcher Sidney Hood and Leah McCoy each had three hits and three RBIs for Fisher in a 12-9 victory at Hoopeston.

TRACK AND FIELD

Saints sweep titles at Heyworth: The Central Catholic girls score 183 points and the Saint boys 124 to sweep the titles in the six-team Heyworth Invitational. Heyworth's girls (133) and boys (104) took second.

Among the standouts was Heyworth's Devon Butler in the 400 (53.00) and long jump (21-2.75), Tri-Valley's Luke Myszka in the 110 high hurdles (16.31) and 300 intermediate hurdles (44.11) and Drew Guimond in the 3,200 (10:10.51).

For the girls, Central Catholic's Ella Larson swept the long jump (16-4) and triple jump (33-3.5) and Heyworth's Allison Miner swept the hurdle events (17.44 and 55.31).
