DANVILLE — Danville High School basketball standout Kendall Moore buried a 3-pointer in the final minute to give the host Vikings a 56-55 Big 12 Conference win over Normal Community on Tuesday night.
NCHS, playing without star guard Daylen Boddie who missed the game because of illness, took the Big 12 champions down to the wire before seeing their record fall to 20-8 overall and 5-5 in the league.
"We played a great game tonight and gave ourselves a chance to win," said NCHS coach Dave Witzig.
Junior forward C.J. Wilbourn netted 20 points to lead the Ironmen. Guards Blake Foster and Dishon Hall both connected on some big 3s to help NCHS to a 25-23 halftime lead.
Foster ended with 14 points with Hall adding 10.
Danville pulled ahead in the third quarter and carried a 45-41 lead into the final period.
Julian Pearl scored a team-high 16 points for Danville (24-2, 9-1) with Moore adding 15.
