Neil Lambert scored nine of his game-high 21 points in a 22-9 fourth-quarter run to rally the Pontiac High School boys basketball team to a 63-55 Corn Belt Conference win over host Eureka.

Austin Long added 15 points and Carter Jacobs 11 for the Indians who trailer, 46-41, heading into the final period.

Eureka's Andrew Hoelscher matched Lambert with 21 points while Dylan Troyer chipped in 13 and Jaxson Rieke 12 for the Hornets.

Cornerstone 45, Urbana Uni-High: Zack Struetker's 25 points and 13 rebounds powered the Cyclones (5-2) to victory in their East Central Illinois Conference opener at Bloomington, giving coach Rick Owens his 400th career victory.

Chandler Vieth added 14 for Cornerstone, which surrendered 18 points in the first quarter and 19 in the final three. Freshman Noah Blee led Uni-High with 19.

Lanphier 40, Lincoln 35: Gavin Block and Aron Hopp accounted for all but two of host Lincoln's points in a Central State Eight loss to Springfield Lanphier.

Block finished with 20 and Hopp 13 for the Class 3A No. 7 Railsplitters (13-3), who never led and trailed by as much as 10. Nick Patton led the Lions with eight.

Mount Pulaski 56, Hartem 45: Mount Pulaski used a 22-6 fourth-quarter run to edge Hartsburg-Emden at Hartsburg. Beau Collier had 17 points and Michael Lowery 13 to lead the Hilltoppers.

Max Boch scored 14 points to lead three players in double figures for Hartem.

Cissna Park 53, Iroquois West 34: Matt Birr had 18 points as host Cissna Park had no trouble dispatching Sangamon Valley Conference foe Iroquois West. Ben Jennings scored 14 and Devon Laubscher 12 for the Timberwolves.

Iroquois West got nine points from Alec Small.

Williamsville 38, Illini Central 34: Illini Central was defeated by Williamsville at Mason City. Cody Curry led the Cougars with 12 points on four 3-pointers.

Dwight 65, Clifton Central 43: Caleb Bowman hit five 3-pointers en route to a game-high 15 points and Class 5A No. 5 Dwight (13-2, 2-0) rode a 24-8 first quarter to an easy Sangamon Valley Conference win over host Clifton Central.

Calvary Christian 58, DeLand-Weldon 40: Dustin Beernink had 18 points and Tatton Workman netted 16 as the Knights (8-3) opened ECIC play with a win at DeLand.

Peoria Christian 71, Roanoke-Benson 59: Roanoke-Benson got 23 points from Luke Rasmuson, but Dakota Bennington had 25 for Peoria Christian in a Tri-County victory at Roanoke.

Alex O'Neill had 20 for Peoria Christian (11-2, 2-1) while Klay Nafziger had 17 rebounds to go with his 16 points for Roanoke-Benson (11-3, 2-1).

Shelbyville 66, Clinton 50: Jacob Overton led all scorers with 17 points, but host Clinton (5-9, 0-1) trailed wire-to-wire in an Okaw Valley Conference loss to Shelbyville.


Normal West 43, Moline 42: Carolyn Peters scored 10 points and pulled down seven rebounds as host Normal West outlasted Moline in a nonconference match-up.

Abby Thompson added nine points and four steals while Maya Walker chipped in eight points and seven boards for the Wildcats.

Moline's Hailey Cook led all scorers with 14 points.

Deer Creek-Mackinaw 33, Heyworth 26: Deer Creek-Mackinaw outscored Heyworth (7-10, 1-6) by 15 points in the fourth quarter to earn an HOIC victory at Heyworth.

Maddie McGinnes led the Chiefs with seven points. Somer Marlett and Madielynn Sims each scored eight for Heyworth.

Tremont 61, GCMS 23: Lauren Hartman poured in 16 points while Jill Runyon and Wesley Woodard had 14 apiece for Tremont in a home win over GCMS.

The Falcons, who trailed 27-14 at halftime, were led by Mikayla Baillie's eight points.
