PALOS HEIGHTS — Tahir Thompson scored 23 points Monday to lead Chicago Lincoln Park to a 79-54 victory over Bloomington in the Spot-Lite MLK Classic hosted by Chicago Christian High School.

Mike Robinson added 16 points and Julio Montes 12 for the Lions (15-6), who recently defeated Chicago Whitney Young when Whitney Young was ranked No. 1 in the Class 4A state poll.

BHS (14-6) was paced by 6-5 senior guard Caleb Donaldson with 16 points. Six-seven Southern Illinois recruit Chris Payton added 13 points, seven rebounds and six blocked shots for the Purple Raiders, who trailed 15-7 after one quarter and 35-21 at the half.

"We just had no energy," BHS coach Micheal Mosley said. "They were all over the floor. We turned the ball over early and we lacked urgency. When you do that, you're going to have problems. They were the better team across the board."
