BLOOMINGTON — The Bloomington High School basketball team rebounded nicely from a Friday loss to Peoria Notre Dame by handling Decatur MacArthur, 70-51, Saturday at the Robert Frank Sports Complex.
Caleb Donaldson paced the Purple Raiders (15-8) with 23 points.
“We didn’t press the entire game. We played some zone and halfcourt man late,” BHS coach Micheal Mosley said. “We tried to stay in and rebound as a team, and we were able to do so.”
BHS scored 25 third-quarter points to take a 52-40 margin into the fourth quarter.
“We got some separation the third quarter,” said Mosley. “We used their pressure against them and got some easy baskets.”
Landon Moore added 11 points for BHS. Donzell Johnson grabbed nine rebounds and Donaldson seven. Moore and Nate Duckworth handed out six assists apiece.
Southern Illinois recruit Chris Payton did not play because of what Mosley called "tardies."
