FYI: Richwoods is making its ninth state trip and first since winning its third title in 2009. The Knights' lone loss was a 53-47 setback against Normal Community in the State Farm Holiday Classic semifinals. Their 18-game winning streak includes a 49-29 win over top-ranked and three-time defending state champion Morton in the sectional final. Camryn Taylor has received scholarship offers from Colorado, Southern Illinois and Bradley ...  First-time state qualifier Glenbard South saw a 23-5 campaign last year end in the sectional semifinals. The Raiders opened the season with a loss to Class 4A Final Four qualifier Geneva. They also lost to 4A super-sectional qualifier Chicago Mother McAuley and River Forest Trinity.

Coaches: Todd Hursey is 182-46 in seven years at Richwoods ... Morgan Kasperek is 70-19 in three years at Glenbard South and 89-22 in four years overall.

FYI: Nazareth is making its first state trip. The Roadrunners' Alyssa Geary, a Providence recruit, sat out most of her junior season after transferring from River Forest Trinity. Narazeth's losses came against Chicago Mother McAuley and Lisle Benet ... Breese Central is making its fourth state trip and first since placing second in Class 2A in 2015. The only returnee from that squad is senior Faye Meissner, who has signed with Missouri-St. Louis. The Cougars lost to Class 1A Final Four qualifier Lebanon, Belleville East and O'Fallon. Breese Central upset No. 6 Effingham, 37-31, in the super-sectional.

Coaches: Nathan Rueter is 331-86 in 13 years at Breese Central ... Eddie Stritzel is 44-16 in two years at Narazeth and 280-67 in 11 years overall.

FYI: Second a year ago to fellow Final Four qualifier Geneva, Edwardsville is making its sixth state trip since 2004. The Tigers, who have never won a state crown, needed overtime to top No. 4 Rock Island, 48-44, in the sectional final. Edwardsville also won a 41-40 thriller over Belleville East in the regional final. The Tigers' Kate Martin is an Iowa recruit ... Third a year ago, Montini is an 11-time state qualifier and a four-time champion. The Lady Broncos are led by Ohio State recruit Aaliyah Patty and Wake Forest-bound Lindsey Jarosinski. Montini is unbeaten against Illinois opponents. 

Coaches: Lori Blade is 453-57 in 16 years at Edwardsville and 686-84 in 24 years overall ... Jason Nichols is 457-61 in 15 years at Montini and 526-83 in 18 years overall.

Reigning champion Geneva is led by Alabama-Birmingham recruit Margaret Whitley, one of four returning starters. The Vikings lost to fellow Final Four qualifier Montini, Chicago Mother McAuley and Loyola. 

Coaches: Kim de Marigny is 60-4 in two years at Maine West ... Sarah Meadows is 175-43 in seven years at Geneva.
