The Fieldcrest High School basketball team led by 12 points after one quarter and defeated Flanagan-Cornell, 69-59, Friday in Heart of Illinois Conference action at Minonk.

Sophomore Jaxon Cusac-McKay topped the Knights, who improved to 5-0 overall and 3-0 in league play, with 24 points. Derek May contributed 13 points and nine rebounds for Fieldcrest, while Hayden Carls and Garrett Nix added 10 points each.

Flanagan-Cornell was topped by Jeremy Durdan’s 21 points. Karson Kimpling chipped in 12 points and Tyler Harms 10.

EPG 42, Ridgeview 27: Jack Weber's 17 points led the way for unbeaten El Paso-Gridley in an HOIC game at Colfax.

Slias Steiner and Noah Smith added nine points each for the Titans (6-0), who built a 22-10 halftime lead. Ridgeview (4-3) was paced by Levi Zimmerman with 11 points. 

LeRoy 57, Eureka 54: Payne Mayfield contributed 18 points as LeRoy held off visiting Eureka in an HOIC game.

Caleb Moore added 10 points for the Panthers. Keegan Zimmerman paced Eureka with 18 points and Brady Krile added 10.

Tri-Valley 67, Heyworth 54: Nolan Anderson topped all scorers with 21 points to spark Tri-Valley to a HOIC triumph at Heyworth.

John Symanski added 16 for the Vikings. Tazden Eller had 14 points and Gavin Hicklin and Colin McCubbins 11 each for the Hornets. 

Dee-Mack 60, Midwest Central 27: Levi Scheuermann scored 15 of his game-high 17 points in the first half as Deer Creek-Mackinaw cruised to a nonconference victory at Mackinaw. The Chiefs also received 13 points from Darien Rucker.

Blue Ridge 40, Fisher 37: Zach Stephens scored 14 points as Blue Ridge (6-2) slipped past host Fisher in a nonconference game. Carson Brozenec led the Bunnies with 11 points.

Prairie Central 62, Tri-Point 30: Trey Bazzell scored eight of his 14 points in the third quarter as Prairie Central earned the nonconference win at Fairbury. The Hawks held Tri-Point to two points in the second quarter to take a 27-12 halftime lead. Andrew Fox added 10 points for Prairie Central.

Illini Central 54, Olympia 50: Max May scored 11 of his game-high 19 points in the fourth quarter to send Olympia to a nonconference loss at Stanford. The Spartans, who held a 36-34 lead entering the fourth quarter, were led by Hunter Berges with 14 points while Gage Eveland added 12.

Tolono Unity 47, Clinton 42: Cal Case scored 12 points and Matthew Overton 10 for Clinton in a 47-42 loss to Tolono Unity at Tolono.

Marquette 63, Roanoke-Benson 49: Ottawa Marquette pulled away in the fourth quarter to down Roanoke-Benson in a Tri-County Conference game in Ottawa. The Rockets (5-2, 1-1) were led by Jordan Huschen's 17 points. Marquette improved to 5-0 and 2-0, respectively.

Calvary 49, DeLand-Weldon 33: Matthew Wingate’s 25 points propelled Calvary Christian at Normal.

The Knights evened their record at 4-4. Sean Shott topped the visitors with 18 points.

Mount Pulaski 70, Edinburg 40: Mount Pulaski received 14 points from Brandon Kretzinger and 11 each from Dustin Murphy and Drew Martin in a 30-point victory at Edinburg.

GIRLS

Prairie Central 46, Tri-Point 32: Elly Haberkorn scored 12 points as Prairie Central notched a nonconference win at Fairbury.
