The GCMS High School basketball team, which shares the No. 5 ranking in Class 2A, topped Cissna Park, the No. 1 ranked Class 1A squad, 48-41 in overtime, at Cissna Park on Tuesday.
GCMS outscored the Timberwolves 9-2 in the overtime session after a 39-39 tie after regulation play.
The Falcons received 16 points from Bryce Barnes, including six in overtime. Ryland Holt added 14. Christian Stadeli had 17 points for Cissna Park.
Tremont 76, Fieldcrest 65: Landon Pflederer's 25 points powered visiting Tremont to victory over Fieldcrest (13-5, 4-2) at Minonk. Ryan Wagenbach added 14 points, Silas Israel 12 and Titus Thompson 10.
Hayden Carls scored 17 points while Jaxon Cusac-McKay had 16 points and seven assists for Fieldcrest, which took a 48-46 lead into the fourth quarter.
Cornerstone 68, Urbana Uni High 39: Zack Wolfe scored 17 points to lead Cornerstone (13-3, 3-0) to victory over visiting Urbana Uni High. Cassidy Jean added 14 points, eight rebounds and six assists for the Cyclones, who also received 12 points from Sam Patterson and 11 from Joe Kaufman.
Calvary 64, DeLand-Weldon 34: Sophomore Chayton Gearhart scored 18 points to lead the visiting Knights to victory. Matthew Wingate added 13 points. Sean Shutt led DeLand-Weldon with 17 points.
El Paso-Gridley 60, Heyworth 31: The Titans scored the first 19 points of the second half in coasting to a Heart of Illinois Conference win at El Paso. Jack Weber and Teron Fairchild each scored 15 points for EPG with Weber adding 12 rebounds. Silas Steiner contributed 14 points for the Titans, who broke a four-game losing streak.
Alex Cilento had six points for Heyworth.
Deer Creek-Mackinaw 43, Eureka 35: Levi Scheuermann's 13 points and Jared Kilby's 13 paced Deer Creek-Mackinaw to victory at Eureka.
Keegan Zimmerman scored 17 points and Brady Krile 10 for the Hornets, who took a 32-26 lead into the fourth quarter.
Prairie Central 72, Olympia 46: Trey Bazzell scored 15 points and Jake Crane 16 to lead Prairie Central in an Illini Conference game at Stanford.
Hunter Berges scored 22 points for Olympia, which trailed at halftime, 35-28.
Lincoln 62, Charleston 39: Jermaine Hamlin netted 20 points for the Railsplitters (13-2) in their Apollo Conference win at Lincoln. Kameron Whiteman added 11 points for the hosts, who shot a blistering 68 percent from the field.
Clinton 58, Decatur St. Teresa 54: Zeke Hickman and Matthew Overton scored 15 points apiece for Clinton (7-12, 1-2) in a victory at Decatur St. Teresa (6-9, 1-2).
Jack Hogan had 20 points for St. Teresa while Austin Fitzpatrick chipped in 13.
Normal Community 54, Bartonville Limestone 39: Kylee Schneringer had 16 points, six assists and three steals for Normal Community (17-6) in a win over visiting Limestone (7-12).
Maya Wong and Abby Feit added 11 points apiece for the Lady Iron, who trailed at halftime, 27-14. Feit also grabbed 11 rebounds. Zoie Wall led Limestone with nine points.
Springfield 52, Normal West 46: Tresoir Newson and Olivia Demosthenes scored 12 points apiece and Jess Jacobs 10 for Normal West (12-8) in a loss at Springfield.
