Jack Weber scored 21 of his game-high 30 points in the first half as El Paso-Gridley High School stayed unbeaten with a 70-49 victory over Fisher in a Heart of Illinois Conference boys basketball game Friday night at Fisher.

Weber also grabbed a team-high 13 rebounds. Noah Smith added 11 points for the Titans (5-0), who led 40-28 at halftime. Andrew Zook scored 14 points and Dalton Burk added 13 for the Bunnies. Zook led in rebounds with six.

GCMS 53, Flanagan-Cornell 34: Connor Birky sank three 3-pointers and scored 17 points to lead Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley to an HOIC win at Gibson City. Ryland Holt added 14 points and Bryce Barnes 10 for the Falcons (3-2, 1-0).

Flanagan-Cornell, which trailed 23-16 at the half, was paced by Tyler Harms with 12 points.

Dee-Mack 63, Lexington 32: Levi Scheuermann poured in 29 points as Deer Creek-Mackinaw used a big third quarter to pull away from Lexington for an HOIC win at Mackinaw.

The Chiefs led 25-22 at halftime before Dee-Mack used a 29-8 advantage in the third quarter, with Scheuermann scoring 15 points, to take control. Tate Walcott led Lexington with 10 points.

Fieldcrest 60, Tri-Valley 39: Ryan Naas and Jaxon Cusac-McKay each scored 15 points to lift Fieldcrest to an HOIC victory at Minonk. Derek May added nine points, seven assists and three steals for the Knights. Leading the way for Tri-Valley was John Symanski with 13 points.

Heyworth 75, Cornerstone 55: Colin McCubbins and Tazden Eller combined for 47 points and nine 3-pointers as host Heyworth rallied in the second half to beat Cornerstone Christian in a nonconference game. McCubbins scored a game-high 25 points with four 3-points, while Eller had 22 points and five 3s. Cassidy Jean's 20 points paced Cornerstone, which led 27-22 at halftime.

Danville 84, Pontiac 74: Joseph Murphy poured in 34 points for Pontiac in the nonconference loss at Danville. Michael Davis added 15 points and Ryan Weir 14 for the Indians (1-5).

Danville (7-0) received 25 points from Tevin Smith and 24 from Sean Houpt.

Clinton 60, Maroa-Forsyth 44: Zeke Hickman's 21 points helped Clinton to a nonconference victory at Maroa. Cal Case added 10 points for the Maroons (3-3), who led 36-29 at halftime. Maroa-Forsyth was playing its season opener.

Calvary Christian 51, Grace Christian 42: Sophomore Chayton Gearhart scored 22 points and freshman Matthew Wingate contributed 19 as Calvary Christian (3-2) earned a nonconference win at Normal.

Roanoke-Benson 53, Putnam County 38: Jake Weber scored 21 points and his brother, Jack Weber, added 14 as Roanoke-Benson won its Tri-County Conference opener at Roanoke. Luke Braman added six points and 10 rebounds for the Rockets (3-1).

PBL 55, Dwight 39: Logan Graham scored nine points and Lane Thompson had seven as Dwight (2-4) dropped its Sangamon Valley Conference opener to visiting PBL.

Woodland 34, DePue 31: Tyler Jenkins scored 10 points as Woodland prevailed at South Streator. Collin Hjerpe added nine points and nine rebounds for the Warriors.

Mount Pulaski 68, Cerro Gordo 57: Freshman Lane Murphy paced Mount Pulaski with 18 points to a road victory, while Dustin Murphy scored 14, Brandon Kretzinger 13 and Grant Davis 11.

Lincoln 67, Taylorville 63: Lincoln built a 19-point lead heading into the fourth quarter before holding off host Taylorville in an Apollo Conference game.

GIRLS

Ridgeview 57, Cissna Park 28: Mya Tinsley's 15 points helped Ridgeview earn a nonconference win at Cissna Park. Freshman Peyton Rinkenberger and River Rosales added 12 points each for the Mustangs.

Rosales also had six assists and Rinkenberger four. Maddie Clark grabbed a team-high six rebounds.
