PONTIAC — Central Catholic High School's Luke Yoder was the Class 1A-2A North's Most Valuable Player after scoring eight points and grabbing 10 rebounds in a 92-91 win over the South on Saturday in the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association All-Star Games at Pontiac High School.
LeRoy's Nick Perry led the North in scoring with 16 points. Levi Scheuermann of Dee-Mack and Eureka's Keegan Zimmerman each contributed six points for the victors.
Bryson Bultman of Nashville led the South with 16 points.
Class 3A-4A boys: Marquise Kennedy and Anthony Roberts scored 20 points each to lead the boys 3A-4A North to a 132-121 win over the South. Keenon Cole added 19 for the North.
The South, coached by Normal Community's Dave Witzig, was paced by Illinois Mr. Basketball E.J. Liddell of Belleville West with 28 points. Bloomington's Caleb Donaldson added 12, Lincoln's Jermaine Hamlin had six and Normal West's Shea Cupples scored five.
3A-4A girls: Celia Satter of Loyola Academy had 23 points to power the girls 3A-4A North past the South, 95-83. Satter's game-high total included five 3-pointers.
The South was paced by Morton's Tenley Dowell with 19 points. Normal Community's Abby Feit contributed five points.
1A-2A girls: Sammi Matoush of Hillsboro scored 28 points as the girls 1A-2A South edged the North, 93-92. Skylar Hayes of Mount Pulaski chipped in nine points and Eureka's Courtney Heffren scored eight to help the South to victory.
Kennedy Bauer of Watseka led the North with 17 points. Dwight's Melissa Stewart scored 10 and Flanagan-Cornell's Jadyn Mitchell had two points for the North.
