The Parkside girls, led by individual champion Alexandra Reinhart, and the Kingsley boys both placed fourth in their respective Class 3A divisions in the Illinois Elementary School Association state cross country meet at Normal's Maxwell Park on Saturday.

The Parkside girls, who saw Reinhart cover the 3,200-meter course in 11 minutes, 18 seconds, scored 176 points while winner Minooka tallied 72. Reinhart won by 13 seconds. Ali Ince of eighth-place Kingsley (258) was sixth (11:39).

The Kingsley boys were led by Tyler Chapman in 25th (20:59). Harrison Taylor of Evans was 21st (20:57).

For the Class 1A girls, Bloomington Corpus Christi finished fifth (162) as Sophia Yaklich led the way in 27th (123:35). Becca Heitzig of West Lincoln-Broadwell was second in 11:59.

For the 2A boys, El Paso-Gridley was eighth (323), Olympia 19th (454) and Heyworth 26th (632). The top area finisher was EPG's Sam Bushert in fifth (10:56).

In the 1A boys race, Corpus Christi was 14th (363) and Normal Epiphany 15th (377). For the 2A girls, Olympia finished 18th (445).
