Brief previews of area playoff games for Saturday, Nov. 9:

Class 1A

Tri-Valley vs. Argenta-Oreana

Time and place: 4 p.m., Argenta

Records: Tri-Valley 10-0; Argenta-Oreana 8-2

Playoff experience: Tri-Valley — 7th appearance, 6th consecutive, 2-6 all-time in playoffs; Argenta-Oreana — 16th appearance, 2nd consecutive, 21-15 all-time in playoffs.

FYI: Top-seeded Tri-Valley is coming off a 56-14 win over White Hall North Greene. The Vikings are averaging 382.7 rushing yards per game with help from Braden Herrman (1,057, 16 TDs), Caleb Wilson (946, 14 TDs) and Peyton Roop (708, 9 TDs). … No. 9-seeded Argenta-Oreana’s losses were to Monticello, 20-6, and to No. 1-ranked Maroa-Forsyth, 49-15. Last week, the Bombers turned back the Greenfield-Northwestern co-op, 37-20. … Argenta-Oreana’s top rushers are Cameron Hupp (881 yards, 9 TDs) and Austin Wenskunas (788 yards, 10 TDs). Gage Eller has passed for 541 yards and rushed for 444. Quinton Crawley has a team-leading 22 catches for 383 yards and 8 TDs. Nathan Gentzyel is the top tackler with 36 solos and 92 assists. … Coach Chad Eisenmenger guided Argenta-Oreana to second in the Okaw Valley Conference’s Blue Division behind Maroa-Forsyth while Tri-Valley went 8-0 in the Heart of Illinois Conference. … This winner meets either No. 3-state ranked Casey-Westfield (10-0) or No. 9 seed Carrollton (9-1).

Class 4A

Mahomet-Seymour vs. Rock Island Alleman

Time and place: 1 p.m., Mahomet

Records: Mahomet-Seymour 9-1; Alleman 8-2

Playoff experience: Mahomet-Seymour — 25th appearance, 12th consecutive, 21-23 all-time in playoffs; Alleman — 20th appearance, 4th consecutive, 33-19 all-time in playoffs.

FYI: This is the first playoff meeting between these schools. Second-seeded Mahomet-Seymour, ranked No. 9 in the AP state poll, faces a No. 5-ranked opponent, which carries the No. 3 seeding. The Bulldogs are coming off a 35-13 home win over Manteno while Alleman dispatched IVC, 41-0. … Mahomet-Seymour is led by Joe Kenney, who has completed 102 of 200 passes for 2,008 yards and 23 TDs. Tyler Francisco has added 1,043 yards at 7.7 yards per carry. Cully Day has chipped in 793 yards on 37 receptions. … Connor Doak leads Alleman with 628 yards on 120 carries followed by Kylee Dorsey (622 yards), Matt Hubbell (564 yards) and Kevin O’Keeffe (490 yards). O’Keeffe has completed 38 of 73 passes for 668 yards and seven TDs. His top target is Dorsey with 234 receiving yards on 10 catches. … The winner here will likely face No. 6-state ranked Quincy Notre Dame (9-1), which plays Peotone (8-2).
