Pontiac running back Austin Norman (27) looks for daylight on a run against Central Catholic on Aug. 24 at Bill Hundman Memorial Field in Bloomington. Norman was a first-team all-Illini Prairie Conference selection for the second year in a row.

Prairie Central High School senior Wyatt Steidinger and Pontiac junior Steven Lewis were two-way, first-team selections on the Illini Prairie Conference all-conference football team.

Steidinger was honored as a running back and defensive back, while Lewis was chosen as a lineman on both sides of the ball.

Area players joining them on the first-team offense were Pontiac senior running back Austin Norman, Prairie Central senior linemen Steven Zhao and Jonah Miller, and Pontiac senior wide receiver Colton Clesson. Norman was a repeater from last year’s first team.

The first-team defense included Steidinger, Lewis, Pontiac senior lineman Keegan DeLong, Pontiac senior linebacker Gavin Bauknecht and Pontiac senior defensive back Eric Watson.

League champion and Class 3A state champion Monticello had five first-team picks on offense and four on defense in voting by the league coaches.

The Sages’ Riley Austin (offensive line), Asher Bradd (wide receiver) and Alek Bundy (defensive back) were unanimous selections.
