University High School swept all four of its matches to claim the Girls Intercity Tennis Tournament title Saturday held at Bloomington High School and McGraw courts.

Normal Community finished second with a 3-1 mark, followed by Central Catholic (2-2), Bloomington (1-3) and Normal West (0-4).

Each match consisted on two singles and three doubles.

In what amounted to the championship match, U High downed NCHS, 3-2. The Pioneers got singles victories from Amaya Fernandes and Katie Feely along with their doubles team of Calis Lim and Stephanie Chow. NCHS winners were Olivia Kraft-Kavya Sudhir and Madison Vail-Grace Walls in doubles. 

BHS' Barger low freshman: Bloomington's T.J. Barger took low freshman honors in the Gary Saunders Invitational at Macomb Country Club, firing an 81.

The Raiders were fifth in the 13-team field with a 337 total. Hillsboro won the title at 314. Matt Cain of Davenport (Iowa) Assumption was medalist with a 2-over-par 73.
