BLOOMINGTON — Six area teams, including four from the Intercity, will compete in the Illinois High School Association Competitive Cheerleading State Finals this weekend at Grossinger Motors Arena.

Normal Community, Normal West and University High have qualified in the coed division, with Bloomington taking part in the medium team division. Representing the area in the small team division will be Eureka and Dwight. All advance to state by virtue of their finishes in last weekend's sectionals.

State preliminaries are Friday beginning at 9 a.m. with the top 10 from each 30-team division advancing to Saturday's finals.

In the coed division, U High is scheduled to perform at 3:55 p.m., with NCHS set for 4:35 p.m. and Normal West at 7:30 p.m.

Bloomington will compete in the medium team prelims at 10:15 a.m. Friday. In the small team class, Dwight is slated for 9:30 a.m. and Eureka for 11:35 a.m.

Tickets are $10 per session.
