COLLINSVILLE — The Normal Community High School boys' soccer team took an early lead in the title game of the Class 3A Collinsville Sectional, before the host Kahoks rallied back to give Collinsville a 2-1 win on Friday.

NCHS' season ended at 15-5-7. Collinsville advanced to the Bradley-Bourbonnais super-sectional to face Chicago Mount Carmel on Tuesday.

Drew Doellman gave NCHS its early 1-0 advantage, scoring on an assist from Isaac Olson 6:21 into the contest.

"I was happy with how we came out and started the game," said NCHS coach Matt Chapman. "We came out with intensity winning 50-50 balls and playing well."

Collinsville would tie the game on a goal by Zane Baker 12:48 into the first half. A Kahoks' score by Luke Liljegren with 15:58 remaining in the half proved to be the game winner.

"We had the play well-defended," said Chapman of Liljegren's goal. "They just made a great play on it."

Collinsville outshot the Ironmen, 10-6.
