Olympia bests Dee-Mack: Klair Hartzold had three hits, including two doubles, an RBI and scored three runs to lead Olympia’s 14-hit barrage as the Spartans (21-3) handed Deer Creek-Mackinaw an 11-1 nonconference loss at Stanford. Claire Dubree (10-2) held the Chiefs to one hit while striking out eight.
Carr blanks GCMS: Mikaela Carr (7-3) struck out seven as Tri-Valley (19-4, 9-1) shut out Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley, 3-0, in HOIC play at Gibson City. Regan Romshek (10-6) took the loss for the Falcons (13-6, 8-2).
Wheeler, Wilson lead Blue Ridge: Jordan Wheeler tossed a three-hitter, striking out seven, and Melinda Wilson had two hits and two RBI’s as Blue Ridge (21-4, 8-2) beat host Tremont, 5-1, in Heart Of Illinois Conference action.
Dwight victorious: Sarah Butterfield had three hits, including a home run and a double, to lead Dwight (15-5, 6-3) to an Interstate Eight Conference win at Herscher. Erin Gaston (11-5) struck out 10 for the win.
Eureka stings Peoria Christian: Angie Burns had five hits and two RBI, Jessa Wakid homered and drove in three runs and Eureka (10-4) pounded out 14 hits in a 10-4 nonconference win over host Peoria Christian. Andrea Hunt had nine strikeouts to get the win.
