Senior Jake Lanning set Pontiac High School's record for wrestling victories Saturday, posting his 140th win in placing first at 170 pounds in the Joe Bee Memorial invitational at Springfield.
Lanning's win was one of three for the Indians, who totaled 132 points to place fifth among 14 teams. Billy Burns topped the 152-pound class while Kevin Gschwendtner won at 160.
Heyworth, which placed ninth with 71 points, had a pair of champions in Gabe Spencer (113) and Andrew Sims (120).
Chatham Glenwood won the meet with 168 points. Normal Community (38) took 11th.
LeRoy 4th at Metamora: Trevor Bulington won at 152 while Alex Lamont prevailed at 220 to help LeRoy finish fourth in the 14-team Metamora Holiday Tournament with 123.5 points. Byron won with 171.5.
Tremont's Maverick Hillman defeated LeRoy's Carson Schaefer for the title at 132 as the Turks finished 10th (76.5). LeRoy's Jacob Conaty also placed second at 160. Runner-up Asher Wiegand (120) helped Eureka finish 11th (64).
Central 2nd at Springfield: Central Catholic finished second in the five-team Capital Classic at Springfield with Liam Greil and Max Moews earning second in individual events.
Greil completed the 100-yard backstroke in 1:11.07, just behind Springfield's Jack Milliman (1:10.91). Moews finished second to Chatham Glenwood's Luke Herbst after swimming a 1:17.67 in the 100-yard breastroke.
Greil was also joined by Bo Bevilacqua, Barret Lee and Ben O'Meara on the Saints' 200-yard freestyle relay team that posted a runner-up finish. He then joined Moews, Lee and Chris Russell on the second place 400-yard freestyle relay team.
Springfield Sacred Heart-Griffin outdistanced the Saints 317-222 to claim the title. Normal West finished fifth with 200 points.
