Hillard runs to late model feature win at Farmer City

FARMER CITY - Steve Hillard of Sadorus captured the late model feature race in stock car action Friday night at Farmer City Raceway.

Matt Taylor of Springfield was second, with Wes Steidinger of Fairbury third, Joe Ross Jr. of Springfield fourth and Richie Hedrick of Urbana fifth.

Hillard, Ross Jr., Tony Izzo and Frank Shickel Jr. of Bloomington won heat races. Taylor had fast time in qualifying, while Ryan Dauber of Tonica and Jason Feger of Bloomington won semi-features.

The modified feature race went to Jeff Leka of Buffalo. Lance Dehm of Chatsworth was second, Dave Porth of Gardner third, Matt Bachman of Gibson City fourth and Gary Cook Jr. of Deer Creek fifth.

Heat races went to Dehm, Bachman, Leka and Kevin Hastings, with McKay Wenger of Fairbury and Cory Schwengel of Oreana winning semi-features.

The sportsman division feature race was won by Wes O'Dell of Springfield. Rounding out the top five were Rick Hufford, Greg Kimmons of Pleasant Plains, Ben Hulse of Manville and Joel Funk.

Kimmons, O'Dell and Nick Macklin of Argenta were heat winners. The semi-feature went to Jason Unzicker.

Travis Johnson was the street stocks feature winner. Jim Quinn of Farmer City placed second, Chris Tackett of Bloomington third, David Fair of Decatur fourth and J.D. Smith fifth.

Heat winners were Quinn, Johnson and Gary Schmitt, with Darrell Miller of Maroa capturing the semi-feature.
