BLOOMINGTON — Sioux City outscored the Central Illinois Flying Aces, 2-1, in a shootout to claim a United States Hockey League win on Saturday night at Grossinger Motors Arena.

The game was tied 1-1 at the end of regulation and through an overtime session before an announced crowd of 964.

Sioux City's Bobby Brink and Parker Ford found the back of the net in the shootout, with only Cal Kiefuk scoring for the Aces.

Trevor Janicke scored his 20th goal of the season with an assist from John Driscoll midway through the third period to force the overtime session after Sioux City had taken a 1-0 lead in the second frame.

The Musketeers outshot the Aces, 34-28. Central Illinois goalkeeper Mitchell Gibson had 32 saves in absorbing the loss.

Sioux City was penalized for 18 minutes on five infractions. Central Illinois had four penalties for eight minutes.

Both teams were 0-for-4 on their power play opportunities.

The teams will meet for a rematch at 4:07 p.m. on Sunday afternoon at Grossinger Motors Arena,
