PLYMOUTH, Mich. — Owen Gallatin scored a goal with 5:19 remaining in the game to give Team USA a 1-0 win over the Central Illinois Flying Aces on Friday at USA Hockey Arena.

Gallatin's goal ended a three-game winning streak for the Aces and dropped Central Illinois to 15-14-2-0 for the season. Team USA improved to 10-11-1-2.

Team USA outshot the Aces 25-23.

While goalie Drew Commesso was credited with 23 saves for the victors, Central Illinois goalkeeper Mitchell Gibson absorbed the loss after turning away 24 shots.

Both teams were penalized four times for eight minutes. Each team was 0-for-3 in power play opportunities.

The Flying Aces hope to avenge the defeat when the teams square off again Saturday at USA Hockey Arena before the Aces complete a three-game weekend on Sunday at Muskegon.
