BLOOMINGTON — Youngstown goalie Chad Veltri turned away 24 shots in leading the Youngstown Phantoms to a 3-0 win over the Central Illinois Flying Aces on Sunday at Grossinger Motors Arena.

Youngstown scored all three of its goals in the final period to drop the seventh-place Aces to 18-25-2-1. The fourth-place Phantoms improved to 24-18-1-3.

Aces goaltender Mitchell Gibson had 29 saves in taking the loss. Youngstown outshot the Aces, 32-24.

Each team was penalized twice for four minutes. Both were unsuccessful in their one powerplay opportunity.

The loss before a crowd of 861 came on the heels of the Aces' 3-1 win over the Green Bay Gamblers on Saturday night in Green Bay, Wis.

Chad Singleton scored his 19th and 20th goals of the season in the victory. Joseph Dunlap also scored for the Aces.

Ryan Snowden and Gibson shared goalkeeping duties with Snowden recording 22 saves while giving up the Green Bay goal. Gibson had 16 saves in relief.
