SYDNEY, Australia - University of Illinois forward Marcus Arnold recorded a double-double as the Big Ten's foreign tour team evened its record at 1-1 with a 97-89 win over the Sydney Kings on Sunday.
Arnold, a transfer who began his collegiate career at Illinois State, scored a team-high 18 points in the team's tour-opening 117-91 loss to the West Sydney Razorbacks on Saturday. He followed that performance with 12 points and 10 rebounds in the win over the Kings.
"I am really proud of these guys. The team bounced back after showing some jitters in the first game," said foreign tour coach Tommy Amaker of Michigan, who saw the Wolverines' Lester Abram lead the team with 18 points in Sunday's victory.
The team will leave Sydney today and head to Brisbane, where they will conclude the tour with a game against the Brisbane Bullets on Tuesday followed by a Wednesday date against the South District Spartans.
