ST. LOUIS — The Illinois Wesleyan women's basketball team pulled away early in the second half Wednesday en route to a 69-51 nonconference victory over Fontbonne.

"I thought my starters played a very solid game offensively and defensively," IWU coach Mia Smith said.

Heidi Harnisch helped the Titans (5-2) to their fourth straight victory with 20 points. Amanda Glerum added 13 points and eight assists. Val Fleishman chipped in 12 points and Mallory Heydorn 11.

Crystal Dye led IWU with seven rebounds and turned in a fine defensive effort, according to Smith.

Fontbonne dropped to 1-4.
