FAIRBURY — Shannon Babb of Moweaqua pocketed $10,000 by winning Saturday night's FALS Frenzy 50-lap late model main event at American Legion Speedway.
Babb outran Chatham's Brian Shirley to the checkered flag with Brandon Sheppard of New Berlin finishing third. Frankie Heckenast of Franfort and Kentucky driver Tanner English rounded out the top five.
Babb also had the fastest lap in time trials and won his heat race. Heckenast and English joined Babb as heat winners, as did El Paso's Ryan Unzicker.
Scott Schmitt of Tonica and Bob Gardner of Washington won the evening's B-Mains.
Highland's Mike Harrison won for the fourth time in five starts at Fairbury in the modified class by outdistancing Mike McKinney of Plainfield to the checkers.
Jeff Ledford of Pontiac, Fairbury's McKay Wenger and Mike Chasteen Jr. of Peoria finished third through fifth, respectively.
Steven Brooks of New Lenox posted fast time in time trials with Harrison, Wenger and Peoria's Allen Weisser grabbing heat race victories.
Brandon Pralle of Ashkum won the sportsman division feature over Richard Craven of Joliet and Cullom's Amber Crouch. Points leader Steve Mattingly of Chenoa finished fourth ahead of Pontiac's Michael Ledford.
Pralle and Mattingly scored heat race wins with Crouch topping the field in time trials.
