2000: Illinois State ran its winning streak to five games by forcing 21 turnovers to earn an 82-63 basketball victory over Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis. Tarise Bryson led four ISU players in double figures with 17 points. The Redbirds had a 22-2 scoring edge in fastbreak points.
1990: Guard Mark Haughton scored a season-high 23 points to lead Delaware over Maine in college basketball. Bloomington High School graduate Deonte Hursey scored five points, including 1 of 1 from 3-point range, for Maine.
1980: Senior guard Dave Holtz of Central Catholic holds a narrow lead over Normal Community's Scott Milliren in the race for the Intercity basketball scoring title. Holtz has totaled 144 points in eight games for an 18.0 average while Milliren carries a 17.7 average through seven games.
1955: Farmer City remained undefeated in Sangamon Valley Conference action by staving off upset-minded DeLand Weldon, 79-77. Big Tony Cadle was the big, big man for the Farmers as the towering center dropped in 23 baskets for 46 points despite missing the last four minutes with five fouls.
