SCHAUMBURG — Four pitchers held the Normal CornBelters to four hits as the Schaumburg Boomers took a 3-2 victory Sunday in a Frontier League game at Schaumburg Baseball Stadium.

The Belters (28-29) scored their runs on groundouts by Cam Adams in the third and Michael Baca in the fifth.

Connor Root (0-1), the second of five Normal pitchers, suffered the loss. The Belters pitchers allowed six hits and seven walks.

Payton Lobdell (4-4) threw the first six innings for Schaumburg (32-27) to earn the win. He gave up four hits and two earned runs while walking one and striking out three.

Chris Hall retired the Belters in order in the ninth, striking out two, to pick up his third save.

The Belters begin a three-game series at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday against the Florence Freedom in Florence, Ky.
