O'FALLON, Mo. — Tanner Lubach's two-run single in the eighth inning broke a 3-all tie and helped the Normal CornBelters down the River City Rascals, 5-3, in a Frontier League game Tuesday night at CarShield Field.

Justin Fletcher had three of Normal's 10 hits, while Andrew Godbold drove in a pair of runs. The Belters improved to 9-12, while the West Division-leading Rascals fell to 14-7.

Anthony Herrera (3-2), the third of four Normal pitchers, threw two scoreless innings to earn the win. He gave up one hit with two walks and two strikeouts. Kuehl McEachern earned his third save with a scoreless ninth.

Normal starter Jacinto Garcia allowed six hits and three earned runs in six innings with one walk and one strikeout.

Joe Iorio (2-1) took the loss after going in for River City starter Josh Kimborowicz to start the eighth. Kimborowicz gave up one earned run and six hits in seven innings, fanning six and walking two.
