SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Quarterback Dusty Burk announced his retirement on Saturday night after the Bloomington Extreme's 40-35 United Bowl IV loss to Sioux Falls. | Extreme falls in United Bowl | Photo gallery | Video | Extreme page

"It's been a blessing the last three years to play with those guys," Burk said. "I'd like to thank my family and my wife (Julie) especially."

Burk will now focus on his duties as head football coach at University High School.

"I need to be home with my family more," he said. "I'm fatigued. It's a lot on my plate. I want to focus on my high school team."
