FARGO, N.D. — Van Barr scored twice and Jack Jenkins had another two-point game Friday as the Bloomington Thunder extended their winning streak to four games with a 4-3 victory over the Fargo Force at Scheels Arena.
Blake Gober and Jacob Slaker also scored for the Thunder, who got 15 saves from Hayden Lavigne in evening their USHL record at 16-16-6. Jenkins had a pair of assists, giving him three goals and five helpers during the winning streak.
Zach Yon, Shane McMahon and Sean Mostrom had the goals for the Force (16-16-5). Robbie Beydoun made 26 saves.
The Thunder outshot Fargo 13-2 in the first period but went into the break even at 1-1. Yon put Fargo in front midway through the period before Gober evened the score at the 17:56 mark.
Bloomington followed with three unanswered markers in the second period, with Barr's tallies sandwiched around Slaker's unassisted score.
The Force doubled its shot total against Lavigne in the final period as McMahon scored less than two minutes in and Marstrom narrowed the lead to one five minutes later.
The teams meet again in a 7:05 p.m. rematch on Saturday.
