Former first-team All-American Jessica Moore pitched a perfect game to lead Team USA to an 8-0, five-inning win over the Bloomington Lady Hearts in the Canada Cup on Tuesday at Vancouver, B.C.

Moore, the 2013 Pac-12 Conference Pitcher-of-the-Year while at the University of Oregon, handcuffed the Hearts as the USA national team handed them their first tournament loss.

"The girls were excited to play that level of competition and to play against some of the girls they've watched throughout their careers," said Lady Hearts' coach Al Tolliver.

The Lady Hearts are competing in the Canada Cup's elite, world class division and will take on Team Mexico, Team Japan and Team Canada in their next three outings beginning on Wednesday.

Late Monday, the Lady Hearts defeated the NJCAA All-Stars 4-2.

Kolby Hoffman and Sarah Finck each had two hits while Laura Canopy contributed a two-run double.

Katie Bertelsen was the winning pitcher after limiting the NJCAA All-Stars to four hits.
