Ashley Beyer's team-high 11 kills powered the top-seeded Bloomington High School volleyball team to a 25-17, 25-19 victory over No. 2 seed University High on Saturday in the championship match of the Normal West Class 3A Regional at Normal.
Allison Kirk had nine service points and nine digs for BHS. Illinois State recruit Kristin Stauter contributed a team-high 26 assists.
Stauter had 12 service points and 17 assists in a 25-9, 25-16 semifinal win over No. 4 seed Normal West. Beyer, a Georgia Tech recruit, led in kills with six and Kirk had 12 digs.
U High earned its spot in the title match with a 25-15, 21-25, 25-12 semifinal win over No. 3 seed Morton.

NCHS cruises to 4A crown
Top-seeded Normal Community dispatched Ottawa and host Minooka on Saturday to win the Class 4A Minooka Regional.
NCHS handled Ottawa, 25-11, 25-9, in the semifinals before taking care of Minooka, 25-16, 25-15, in the final. The Iron (29-7) advance to host the Normal Sectional on Thursday against the winner of Belleville East Regional.
Paige Lay led NCHS with 15 kills in the two matches, while Rachel Feldman added 15 digs and Megan Harcharik chipped in with five blocks.
Jenny Menendez tallied 19 service points on the day.
"Minooka played very well in the final, but we played some very good defense and controlled the match offensively," NCHS coach Natalie Sutimek said.
